Taking Your Remedies
The remedy is sprayed on the outside of sucrose pellets, so it is best not to overly handle them. Ideally, only the person taking the remedy should touch it.
You can dispense the pellets into the cap of the vial, a clean dish or medicine cup, or your hand. However, do not touch pellets and put them back into the bottle or envelope. You can either dose those, if needed, or discard.
To Dispense
Vials: if you rest the vial on the edge of the cap and twist, it is easier to dispense 2-4 pellets into the cap. If you get too many, pour them back into the cap without touching them.
Packets: these can be gentle squeezed to make a V-shaped funnel with the opening which gives some control when pouring into your hand or a medicine cup.
Dosing
Dose 2-4 pellets under your tongue or in your cheek.
When taking a remedy, please leave 10 minutes before and after eating, drinking, brushing teeth, or using tobacco, if you are a tobacco user.
If taking more than one kind of remedy near each other, please leave about 20-30 minutes between each remedy, unless otherwise instructed.
Water Dosing
If you are instructed to make a water dose, put 4 pellets in 8 oz water. Dose with a clean spoon or medicine dropper. About 1 tsp is sufficient. You can shake the bottle or stir with a spoon before each dose (succussion), which gently and slightly raises the potency.
What if I miss a dose?
If you remember it later in the day, take it. If you remember the next day, just resume where you left off. If you are not sure, email me.
Please do not stress about dosing. These are guidelines which vary from homeopath to homeopath based on their beliefs and clinical experiences. You and I will individualize your dosing needs, as well.
Take Notes
It’s very helpful if you come to your follow-ups with notes about any symptom changes including a shift in either direction regarding your primary issues, changes in energy, mood, physical and mental/emotional symptoms, and sleep. The date and time of dosing is also helpful. You can use a notebook, your phone, or some clients like to print my recommendations email and write the dates on those.
Children
The pellets are coated on the outside with the remedy, so do not worry if your child chews it up. It works!
For children who are not able to get the pellet under their tongue, just place it in their mouth or inside their cheek. Bedtime doses can be given after they fall asleep, which may be especially useful with timing alongside snacks and brushing teeth. Simply pull down their lower lip with one finger and pour the cap of 2-4 pellets into their mouth. If you must, use your fingers.
Storage and Handling
Well-stored remedies keep for many years. Do not open them around strong odors, such as cooking, coffee, or essential oils. Do not overly handle your pellets, as the remedy is coated on the outsides of the pellets.
Action Of The Remedy
Each individual experiences the reaction to the remedy differently. Usually, the effects are gentle and gradual, but sometimes more rapid changes occur. Since the remedies work to better your general health, do not be concerned if there is not an immediate change.
Symptom Changes
Most changes in symptoms are a positive sign. Sometimes new symptoms begin which are oftentimes not side-effects of the remedy but an indication that the body is responding to the stimulus of the remedy. If you experience a significant negative change, new discomfort, or lack of progress, please stop the remedy and reach out to me by email or by scheduling a Mid-Consult Check-in.
Repetition Of The Dose
The potency, frequency, and duration of the homeopathic remedy/remedies recommended are individualized based on each case. An acute illness may require more frequent repetition, possibly 2-4 times a day or more. Chronic illness may require a daily, weekly, or even less frequent dosing such as monthly. These things can vary based on many factors such as the duration of the issue, its depth, sensitivity to the remedy, and the need for other medications.
Follow-Ups
Follow-up visits are typically scheduled every 4-6 weeks, sometimes more often. Follow-ups are essential to allow me to evaluate any changes that have happened and to make decisions about repetition or a change in your remedies.
Duration
The length of time someone needs homeopathic support is also individual. During an acute illness, you should notice improvement within the first 24 hours, although it is important to ease back into life or you will relapse. People with chronic issues improve over time, varying widely from person to person and issue to issue.
