What is Homeopathy?

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a gentle system of medicine that works with the body's natural abilities to restore balance and vitality. People turn to homeopathy for everything from a child's earache to chronic fatigue. The homeopathic medicine is made of natural substances using a process of dilution and vigorous shaking, called succussion. Commonly, the medicine is sprayed on the outside of little sugar pellets.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathic remedies encourage gentle restorative action. Because they are prepared through this unique process, these substances carry a subtle but real influence on the body, prompting it to move toward its natural state of balance. I like the analogy of an orchestra finding perfect harmony through the right combination of instruments, notes, and timing. With the right homeopathic remedy and potency, the body is nudged back toward that same harmony.

Homeopathy is effective for both acute and chronic symptoms. With chronic symptoms, the body's return to balance tends to unfold gradually in layers, and patience is part of the work.

What do homeopaths do?

Homeopaths guide clients in selecting remedies suited to their unique situation. The choice of remedy, potency, and timing are carefully considered to align with each person's individual needs. The goal is to encourage the body's natural intelligence to maintain or regain homeostasis, its natural state of internal balance. You can learn more about how homeopaths are trained here.
